Mackey Creek Mud
Handmade Functional Pottery
Old Fort, NC
The very best part about my job is: each time a person acquires a piece of pottery from me, that pottery becomes a part of their family. It is used to beautify and bring Joy to their surroundings, whether it be in their home, office, or business and that is an incredible feeling !
My mission is, to bring beauty and joy into as many lives as possible, one piece of pottery at a time!
Jessica M. Myers
Hey there! I'm so honored you stopped by.
I'm Jessica M Myers and the owner/creator of Mackey Creek Mud. I'm a native of Buncombe County, NC. grew up in Weaverville, NC and currently live in Old Fort, NC on our 13 acre homestead with my husband, Brian and our son, Cooper
I am currently a Part Time potter with the dream of Full Time soon (hopefully in 2019). My love for pottery began in High School. My art class received a pottery wheel through a donation and it was all downhill from there; I couldn’t keep from getting my hands dirty, I was instantly hooked! We started classes independently with an instructor and I never looked back.
I furthered my education at Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock, NC. Obtaining my Associates Degree in Art and also taking personal enrichment classes in ceramics.
In 2015 I purchased equipment to start my own pottery studio. Before long, I was up and running. I enjoy making all things pottery, both on the wheel and hand built. I love to make useful vessels and its an absolute pleasure to be able to make a useful object out of clay. Objects that we can use in our lives that also decorate our homes with elegance and character. My pottery reflects my JOY and I hope that JOY makes it into your life as it does for me.
Love from my muddy hands ~
